Opel Club Cape Town

In the spirit of Christmas:

A few of us took a drive to Cloetesville in Stellenbosch last Saturday afternoon (20-Dec-14) to assist 2 x foster moms. Ms. R Garland (one of the foster moms) is the person we made contact with & she explained what they do.

She takes in orphaned, abused, ill, & neglected children. These children have been found in need of care & protection i.t.o the Children’s Care Act 38 of 2005 & placed in foster care with Mrs. Garland. She provides the concerned children with a safe & loving home under the supervision of Home for Home, a NPO.

After chatting to Rosie a bit, she sent us a list of the children (incl. ages) & the items that made up their “wish list”. We put wish list in quotation marks cos’ most of the stuff that the kids asked for was the most basic of items that some of them require - the items that you & I take for granted. Items such as girls hair pins, school pants, girls leggings, etc.

We ended up delivering cupcakes, christmas toys & goodie bags, clothing, shoes, vouchers, food. It was great putting a smile on the faces of those 11 kids.

We’d like to thank everyone who supported & attended the event as well as those who couldn’t make it, but made certain they made a monetary donation towards the purchasing of some of the items.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I took a few pics - below
