I had a bad experience with my insurance company... A chick in my office said i should try the website www.hellopeter.com, its a site that registers complaints and gets the company (if on their list of suppliers that responds) to take the matter up urgently. Normally, when laying a complaint they take a while to respond, some times even days. i stated my complaint on the website, and i got a response with in a few hours. As we all get bad service some time in our lives, thought it would be something that may help here and there Thanks Storm

i'm sure i'll make use of them some or other time. Are there just insurance companies on their list or other companies as well?

every kind of company u can think of - plus u can list your own - go onto it - check how many places like nandos , kfc etc etc get slashed for service....evern big companys like MTn or even BMW

like lupi says... just check it out... companies know how powerful word of mouth is, and when complaints are made on an open site... they get bang... cos every one can read it...

As we all get bad service some time in our lives, thought it would be something that may help here and there Thanks Storm girlie - that is a misconception . they send notificastion to the company of the complaint , but they have no hand in the response or the time it takes in getting it . they lucky if the company has a CLO < client liason officer > who scans forums /complaints sites and picks up these things and responds within 24hrs - seriously , i used to deal with hello peter queries and respond to clients . its a great site and it acts as a warning to companys and people out there of the crappy service out there and how word of mouth could close down a company

thanks Lupi... i was just surprised that i got a response so quickly... i know i have had to make complaints on behalf of clients.. and i never get a response in the time span that the insurance company got back to me...

ive use it b4 to complain about std bank.....and they replied the very next day all beit with a crap response

look - the corporate world sees a response as a response - nobody says you would everything resolved  on peter you should scan posts - see how many times a particular branch or company is being nailed for the same thing .....very interesting - but some complaints are for laaities - mense moaning cos they think they special and they still believe that 100% customer service means customer gets aways with anything and is always right
