I needed to have a wheel bearing replaced on my kadett and seeing that i work in town i decided to arrange 2 hours off and take it through to AutoQuip to have the work done (you know take advantage of the discount).

I get there about 14:45 and they pull my car on the ramp... check it out and i agree to the price they gave me (R500).

When the parts finally arrived they still needed to strip the strut and push out the old bearing... this could have been done while waiting for the parts but this is not why i'm posting this thread.

I wasn't watching the dudie push the bearing in (was having coffee  ) and when i looked up to see how far they were i saw the manager on duty standing but my parts swearing at the dudie that was busy with the stuff (this was at 17:15).

15min later they come to me and say my car is done... no mention of any problems... they didn't inspect the finished work with me (both of these are promised on their flyer). i was able to leave at 18:00... 3hours after i arrived

On Tuesday this week, 10 days later... i'm leaving town and all of a sudden i start getting this really loud knocking noise from the wheel they fixed... turned around and took the car back to them.

Turns out the guy that did the bearing pushed it in to far and the bearing seal popped off. Would have been nice for them to tell me that from the start.

But now the service gets better... Edward (the guy from the tech eve in Tygervalley) advised me that they wouldn't be able to sort it out for me on the day... it would have to wait for tomorrow. He gave me there company bakkie to use for the evening... My car was sorted Wednesday by lunch time...

Why couldn't the service have been that good from the start.

Bad one

I've also heard / read of some Honda guys complaining of Autoquip-Cape Town's service & workmanship

Rightfully speaking, Autoquip-Tygervalley is actually 1 our club's discount sponsor, NOT the CT branch. That Edward guy was just there that night to cash in on the advertising / business so if I were you rather drive that extra km's, if you have to, & go to Autoquip - TYGERVALLEY! :correct:

I hope you expressed how you felt about their service / wokmanship, to Edward though. Its good that they gave you the company bakkie, but it shouldn't have been necessary had they done their work right, from the start

LOL. i wanted to go to AQ tygervalley for the wheel alignment but they were to busy.lol.. but the guy seemed nice and i told him that ill try supa quick just cause i was kinda in a hurry.. so supa quick done an good job..

Its sad how these guys always think that you are to stupid to understand so they will not even show you what they did.. i always stand at the lift if they work on the car and inspect everything they do... even at powerflow i stood for 3 hours.lol.. :duim:

He replaced a balljoint for free for me already, but I gave him money for the labour anyway, as he was doing other work for me

You don't need a bonus to go to him, very good prices.
