How could you possibly say that? So you are saying that no matter what someone does to you or your property you say nothing?

kwaaikie you post this story on as many forums as you can. The customer comes first, kla. Places like that don't deserve business and people will only know if they hear stories like this.

This is making me nervous. But I had 2 good experiences and 1 bad one with them. Which is why Im taking the car back on monday. They replaced my clutch and ball joints. After picking up the car I after 6pm on friday after all the mechanics had left, I could hardly get any gears. I had to adjust it myself. Then after that I noticed Im getting clutch shudder when Im pulling away and its very anoying. On top of that theres knocking sounds thats coming from the mountings or suspension that wasnt there before I took it to them. Thats why the kadett is going back. It just feel as if they rushed the job. They had the car for 3days and decided to work on it 2 hours before closing time on Friday. The saturday I saw my front tyres directional tread is going backwards. So swapped it around again. It seems as if some of them are more clueless than me. I havent met or seen Toby yet because he is Joburg. The only people I speak to there is Gary and Alicia.

My reading is fine :duim: . There shouldn't be a need for two stories in this case. If it was done right one time there would be no unhappiness and no "experience" to tell. Besides, what is his story going to be? He didn't work on the car personally so he is going to tell you the k@k story his machy told him, and guaranteed the machy won't make himself look k@k even if he did f### up.

"lees reg!"

Are you friends with the owner of Tobias Motors? That would explain your attitude towards the topic.

I have had my experiences with many workshops when I was in charge of the company fleet at my previous job. Most of time it seems as if they don't even test drive the vehicle once it has been "repaired". After a while I made sure I picked up every vehicle personally and wouldn't sign it off till I inspected and took the vehicle for a test drive. As soon as the vehicle leaves their premises and you return with faults the problems begin. Many will do anything to "pass the buck" and try and make you responsible.

Here I am not only speaking of backyard machy's or small companys, even the big guys (dealerships) give you problems.

I get very aggravated with topics like these as I have spent too many hours of my life trying to sort vehicle repair problems that wern't fixed first time.

Shot Gouraami, It is frustrating. You pay good money. The least they can do is give the customer a good service.

exactly. You shoudn't need to repair your car when you get it back. Simple things like the rotation of the tyres - WTF. It makes your worry about what more important things weren't done correctly.

Don't you wish you could now charge them for the time and petrol you are wasting going back and forth?

Anyway, before I get upset again.
Advice:
Clutch - normally the only reason for it to shudder is if the flywheel wasn't skimmed properly (or at all).It won't be the pressure plate as it is new (unless it is a dud?). The story they are going to tell you - "Meneer, give it some time to settle, if it isn't better in the next 1000km come back" DON'T EXCEPT THAT. Be Firm, tell them that is a bullshit story and you want it fixed now.

Knocking sound - something probably isn't tightened properly around where they worked, get them to find it. What they are going to tell you " Meneer, one of your engine mounts ( or they are going to claim strut mount or something) is failing, we will need to replace it. It was fine before it got there - DO NOT SPEND ANY MORE MONEY!!! no matter what they tell you

Goodluck, you are going to need it.

ok guys i hear what you sayin about two sides hey,but really now-i've read through all of this hey,and i have this to say. after taking the car to them for the jerk the first time, they called to say something about my strut mountings being loose etc and they had to fix that-they also replaced the clutch cable, something i thought wasnt even faulty-and all of this cost me over 2 grand.Got the car back, and jerk still there-took it back, then they said ok now they need to replace the iddling valve.Got the car back,on my way home, jerk is back. Now you tell me,if i take the car to them for the jerk, why not fix that problem? Why find fault where i didnt even see or feel a fault(dnt get me wrong,im a female and what i know about cars are pathetic)but if i bring something to you to be fixed, fix the problem, dont look for other faults.
Anyway, took car back to them few times, then they said maybe it's my fuel pump and it's gonna cost me R1 350.But i decided to leave it.
So my question to all-does it really cost that much?
Anyway to make long story short-decided to sell the car as is.Sold it yesterday
Now im looking for a car please guys.
Anyone knows of a nice corsa thats for sale?(my experience with this didnt put me off opels at all-still want a corsa.

Hey guys its getting heated here. The last thing I have to add to this thread is, it will stay your choice to go to back if you get good service or bad. I personally will rather work on my car myself from now on and get advise on the forum+autodata application.

:respek: :okka:

I must say, i send my corsa to toby, well, he actually picks my car up from my house and tows it to his workshop. then when the job is done, he delivers it. Then once im happy, i eft the money into his account. He serviced and repaired what needed to be repaired. He even did the z18xe conversion on the corsa. It took a while due to it being the first time he does the conversion. Yes, i do get frustrated at times when there is a slip up, but that is allways sorted by him saying bring the car in again, we will sort the prob out.
