... and thus the OPC is no more
And NO .. I didn't wrap it around a pole!

So, I picked up the car from Ferndale just before krismis. Drove it for a few days and made a to-do-snag list and and dropped it back with them on 2 Jan while I went away on holiday.

They've been working on the list since then
... and so I started finding out little things, like the car was not serviced in over 2 years, motor is actually using a lot of oil .. reason I didn't pick it up initially was because there was almost no oil left in the car when I collected it. Popped in there one day and even the mechanic mentioned that he can see the motor has been opened up before. Seems like the car was never G2 certified cos even the wipers weren't working properly ... wonder how they got it through roadworthy.

Although they did try their utmost to get the car ready and remained professional throughout - and I respect Ferndale for that - they eventually gave up and agreed to give me a full refund, due in the next few days. On the other hand, they knew the car had issues and should never have been put on sale in the first place.

... and don't get me started on that G2 certification...

Anyways ... at least it's a bitter sweet ending for me. Problem is that my view of Ferndale is now tarnished ... and to a certain extent Opel in general as well.
