So after the kadett sounded like a tractor in 2007 for almost a year my father decided to overhaul the engine. So after being overhauled and not even driving it for a week the engine died because of no oil in the engine and hasn’t even been abused yet. So it had to be fixed again but never drove the same as i use to know it.
In 2008 it got even worse. We went to the drags at the airport and drove against my friend with a 150 carb EG civic and struggled against him(yup thats how bad the kadett was and my father told us not to drag or anything with the car ai) but the nail in the coffin was when i gave my smaller brother the keys thinking he was only going to gun the car down and back but no his grootkop houding at that time told him to make a handbrake turn and the distributor broke so we had to ask my father’s friend who was also there to tow us home when the drags was over. Got home and lucky my dad was not there when we arrived. He got home and I had to lie to cover my brothers @ss but little did we know my dad and mom were going to his friend later that night. My mom told me his friend told him that he towed us him and that I dragged with the car and she could see he was getting cross but she told me what saved me is that his friend bragged about how I beat my my friend in the civic and he started laughing lol!

But anyway the car drived on and off in the mean time but the last time i remember the car driving was last year September and has now been standing for almost a year.
Made a suggestion to my dad to change to another engine or atleast to full fuel injection but he said he doesn’t want to change anything of that kind on the car because to him it wont be the kadett GSI 1800.
I have huge respect for that answer my father gave me!!!!
Anyway last week my father went to this guy who has a cd kadett that was fixed after being in a accident but engine wasn’t in. My father just wanted to ask if he would sell the bootspoiler but then told my dad that he is selling the engine and gearbox for R7000 and the whole car plus engine and 2 gearboxes (F16 and F20) for R10 000 and going about town and hearing from everyone that his son’s car is very fast he decided to buy it. So he went Thursday and the guy said he can give him R8000 for everything. (Lucky b@stered as me and my brother was gonna buy the car to put the engine in my car).
Car arrived on Friday with the engine.

C20XE engine is going in today.
Personaly I feel the engine should be opened up completely because it was standing for so long.
Wil update with pics as my brother goes along with his 1st engine transplant.

Yup dad got the car and engine and 2 gearboxes for R8000 witch is a damn gud deal as C20XE engines usually go for R9000 to R10 000.
A diamond in the dirt that we found.
